Many Healthcare workers have difficulty navigating the different oxygen delivery devices available. Understanding the relationship between the patient’s respiratory demand and the delivery device’s flow and FI02 capabilities are the key to interpreting your patient’s need for oxygen. In addition, there are many avoidable safety issues of which to be aware. Correctly interpreting pulse oximetry and ABG values to validate the correct FI02 requirement for the patient is essential.
